Volume 1 – Building Celebration House – Available March 1st
celebrationhouse_book1Carrie Hansen spent her life caring for cardiac patients. Little did she know she would become a patient herself. After recovering from her own heart surgery, she learns she has a special talent: the ability to see and talk with the dead.
Now, with her new heart failing her, she leaves the bustle of Seattle behind and returns to Lexington, Missouri, the small town where she spent her childhood. Here, she sets out to restore an abandoned antebellum mansion and open it as a venue for celebrations.
Carrie’s work is cut out for her. The 150-year-old Greek revival house is in need of serious repair. Her sister, Melanie, tries to bully Carrie into returning to Seattle, predicting “her little project” is doomed to fail. Finally, Carrie’s health gives out on her, requiring emergency surgery.
But she will not give up. Carrie’s unique gift allows her to build relationships with the mansion’s ghostly occupants, especially Maj. Tom Gentry, the handsome Civil War soldier who died 100 years before Carrie was born.
Will Carrie finish restoring the celebration house or will it finish her? And how can she plan a future with a man who has only a past?

Volume 2 – Stay at Celebration House – Available April 1
celebrationhouse_book2Beth Kozera promised her best friend, Carrie Hansen, she would stay and manage Celebration House in Carrie’s absence. How she regrets that promise!
Because Beth has no idea how to manage an event venue. Since when did brides become so demanding and grooms so lecherous? Plus, Beth can’t boil water, let alone supervise a sit-down dinner for 200 guests every weekend.
Thank goodness for Joshua. Or, at least, she thinks. But when Beth offers his mom a job managing the kitchen, Josh shows his patriarchal colors. So much for tall, dark and haughty.
Could Beth’s life get more complicated? Apparently so. Her former fiance, Charles Mercer IV, visits from Seattle and wants Beth to let him back into her life. Charlie is convinced if he can restart his romance with her, he can somehow mend his life.
All Beth wants to do is keep her promise to Carrie, but can every promise be kept?

Volume 3 – Return to Celebration House
celebrationhouse_book3Melanie Hansen loved her younger sister, Carrie. But when Carrie moved to Missouri to restore an antebellum house, Melanie was pretty sure Baby Sister had lost her mind.
Then Melanie’s worst fear comes true: Carrie dies. When a letter arrives asking Melanie to return to Celebration House – Carrie’s house – Melanie has no choice but to leave all that she knows in Seattle and travel to Missouri.
All Melanie wants to do is find a buyer and get the hell back to Seattle. But selling the property isn’t easy with all of the restrictions her sister and the grumpy local historian, Zach Oakes, have put on the sale of the house. The few-and-far-between offers made would destroy all of Carrie’s restorations. Melanie cannot allow that.
Homesick and drowning in grief, Melanie finds Zachary’s shoulders just right for leaning on. When tragedy strikes, Melanie must ask: is Celebration House her new home?

Good morning. I’m sorry I kept you up so late. Please consider reading Book 2 while I finish the third and final installment. My goal is to have it finished by the end of May.
Thank you for taking the time to write to me. I appreciate it more than I can say.

When I first downloaded Building Celebration House, I was only interested in old houses and ghosts. . . . after reading the first few pages, I was hooked for another reason. I am also a heart patient, so I was very interested in how things were going for Carrie. I had an ICD implanted last year, and thankfully it has not fired yet. Things are a little different for me, I’m a lot older than Carrie, and not able to do quite as much as she accomplished, but I enjoyed the book very much and look forward to reading the other two.

      Hi, Sally.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your comment.
I hope I portrayed Carrie with the humor, courage and passion that I found so abundant in the cardiac patients I helped care for. They truly were my inspiration for this character. I hope you will continue reading the stories; Carrie is a presence in all three books.
      Please write again.
      Annette
