Sometimes, you gotta leap. I did that today. I set up the pre-order for the first of the Celebration House Trilogy novels – Building Celebration House. The book will publish on March 1st.
Is it done? No. Then why on earth did I do this? Because I am, sigh, a procrastinator. And deadlines force me to complete my art.
So, here’s the plan:
- Building Celebration House will publish March 1st.
- Stay at Celebration House will publish April 1st,
- Return to Celebration House will publish May 1st.
2017 ! It’s gonna be a heck of a year.

I’ve been working on these three books since, well, it feels like forever.
Celebration House published on Aug. 1, 2013, with Tirgearr Publishing. Since then, I doubt the book has sold 200 copies. I don’t know; I haven’t done the math. But since the first volume came out, I’ve been working on the sequels. It’s just time, Beth! Time I commit to sitting in the chair and doing the work. I’ve written lots of scenes for both of the sequels and new scenes for the original novel, for which I paid to have my rights returned to me last May.
I think I want these books to be amazing, to take the reader every step along the way with the characters. I’m in search of perfection and it’s just not going to happen. So, if not perfection, then what? My best. I’m offering the readers the best I can write at this point in my career. Maybe that’s all any author can do?
